Trying to write your first script? Worrying about how to pitch your script more effectively to potential investors? Moving a completed script into production? Learn from the best at the Flickers: Rhode Island International Film Festival’s 16th Annual ScriptBiz program!

At ScriptBiz, emerging screenwriters can hone their skills by interacting with and learning from seasoned industry professionals. This year’s program, entitled “From Page to Screen,” takes screenwriters through the entire screenwriting process, with panel discussions on the ins and outs of writing a script and the business aspects of getting a script into production, as well as a special workshop on “pitching your script.”

 ScriptBiz takes place on Friday, August 7th, at RI Foundation, 1 Union Station, Providence, RI 02903 • 401.427.4001 • www.rifoundation.org

Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

William J. Torgerson serves as the Director of Creative Writing for the Rhode Island International Film Festival and program organizer for ScriptBiz 2014. He directed “Brothers in Pursuit,” a short film based on his novel and feature screenplay Love on the Big Screen. He is an associate professor in the Institute for Writing Studies at St. John’s University in New York.
